Monitoring of wind turbines

To ensure efficient operation of our wind turbines, we have an on-line connection to these, and can monitor and control all wind turbines in our portfolio centrally. This is important for our production of renewable energy to run optimally around the clock, all year round.

Dansk Vindenergi has a significant production capacity, and the production from our wind turbines must be coordinated with the increasingly complex electricity market, while at the same time we must keep our wind turbines in operation for as many hours as possible.

With our central monitoring, our wind turbines can help support the needs of the electricity grid, and some of the wind turbines are part of the regulating power market, which is controlled by Energinet. Other wind turbines are controlled according to the day-ahead market for electricity, and are stopped if the production of electricity exceeds consumption. In this way, we help to ensure that our production support the needs of the electricity grid.

Over the years, we have acquired and built many wind turbines that run on very different communication platforms. We use the SCADA software called Andromeda to get the same monitoring interface across the individual wind turbines' communication platforms, regardless of the wind turbine's age and make.

Our wind turbine technicians have access to the wind turbines' on-line data and can control this while performing service and troubleshooting tasks, which is a great help.
